CPCA Registrar Training Program
This training equips you with both the clinical expertise and professional recognition needed to advance your career with confidence. Whether you’re already working in aesthetics or planning your transition, the Registrar Training Program offers a clear framework to guide your next stage. It’s purpose-built to support your development, reflect the standards of the profession, and lead you towards Fellowship.
The CPCA’s Registrar Training Program has been specifically developed by cosmetic medical practitioners, for cosmetic medical practice in Australia, and it has been designed to align with The Training Accreditation Council’s Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF) at Level 8. The CPCA’s Registrar Training Program (RTP) will represent the College’s pathway to Fellowship in the near future.
This training program commences with 52900WA Graduate Certificate in Cosmetic Medicine (GCCM) and will soon include a Graduate Diploma in Cosmetic Medicine (GDCM) (under development). Study Mode
Course Duration and Study Load
Completion of this course will take approximately 12 months when completing one unit per study period (a study period varies from 8 to 16 weeks depending on the unit).
Study load requirements involve approximately 6 hours per week.
Course Outcomes
Candidates will be required to successfully fulfil the requirements of each unit prior to proceeding to the next. This will ensure that candidates will have a good grounding in how to operate within the cosmetic medical profession and recognise general medical and dermatological concerns. As a result, GCCM graduates will be better placed to deal with general medical and dermatological concerns that may arise during the treatment of cosmetic medical patients.

GCCM Graduates who have also completed a minimum number of logged hours working in the treatment areas covered by the Graduate Certificate course are encouraged to apply to the CPCA Membership Review Committee for an upgrade to full membership of the college.
The Graduate Certificate in Cosmetic Medicine will be a pre-requisite for the upcoming Graduate Diploma in Cosmetic Medicine (GDCM). Obtaining the GDCM, along with a minimum number of logged hours, allows the CPCA full member to apply to the Membership Review Committee for an upgrade to fellow.
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)/ Credit Transfer
RPL is available to eligible candidates. For further information about RPL, please download the information/application form HERE.
CT is available for applicants who have completed the Preliminary Essentials of Cosmetic Medicine Course. This means a discount of $990 will be applied to the first unit (GCMPCM01 Analyse the principles of cosmetic medicine) as well as credit for the MCQ exam.
Grad Support
This qualification, in association with ongoing CPCA membership, will provide access to further education opportunities such as workshops, journal club meetings, and an active peer discussion group, as well as potential mentoring and employment opportunities.

International Doctors
International doctors who are not AHPRA registered, but hold the equivalent in their own country, may enrol in the Graduate Certificate in Cosmetic Medicine only if they are eligible for Recognition of Prior Learning. Admission Requirements
Australian Doctors
Evidence of current APHRA registration as a medical doctor (or the equivalent for *international students) plus a minimum of 2 years postgraduate clinical experience.

Current and continued CPCA membership is required for the duration of the course. CPCA membership can be in any of the following categories:

- Member
- Fellow
- Overseas Member (RPL pathway only)

Total course fee = $20,940 (GST exempt)

It is compulsory for you to have a USI, and we encourage you to apply for it as soon as you can and preferably BEFORE your enrolment is finalised.
